Care Assistants play a vital role in helping individuals live with as much dignity and independence as possible by building strong and trusting relationships with them and assisting with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning and making conversation.

What does it entail?

Day-to-day, you can expect to help clients with any number of things from getting dressed and maintaining good personal hygiene, to cooking, cleaning, monitoring their health and updating records. The clients you will be responsible for as a Tezlom Care Assistant will likely need round-the-clock care, so there is plenty of opportunity for you to work flexibly. And the variety of clients, personalities and different care needs will always keep you on your toes and the job interesting.

What do you need to work as a Care Assistant with Tezlom?

  • 3 months UK paid previous care industry experience within the last 5 years
  • Enhanced Adult & Child Workforce DBS (either processed with Tezlom or on the Update Service)
  • A minimum of 2 satisfactory references

Care Assistant FAQs

Do I need qualifications to work as an agency care assistant?

No formal qualifications are required, what you need is 3 months of UK paid care experience within the last 5 years, an Enhanced DBS and two satisfactory references. Tezlom provides free mandatory training, including award-winning Basic Life Support training.

Can I choose my own shifts?

Yes. Agency work with Tezlom is fully flexible, you tell your local branch when you're available and they offer you shifts that fit, including days, nights and weekends.

How quickly can I start working?

Once your application, interview, documents and DBS are complete, you're compliant and can start booking shifts. Our compliance team processes checks as quickly as possible, many candidates are working within a couple of weeks.

Can students work as agency care assistants?

Yes, agency care work is popular with students, including student nurses and aspiring medics, because shifts fit around study. Several of our candidates have gone from care assistant roles into nursing and medicine.
