Agency Nurse Jobs

Tezlom is a nursing agency placing Registered Nurses into nursing homes, EMI homes and mental health services across the UK. You choose when and where you work.

Registered Nurses assist multidisciplinary medical teams in a range of environments, including nursing homes, EMI homes and mental health services, to assess, treat and provide rehabilitation services to individuals with a range of complex conditions.

What does it entail?

What you do depends on the setting. Administering medication. Helping patients with dressing, eating, toileting and mobility. Watching how someone is doing and reporting it back to the wider team, so their care keeps up with them.

Is this for me?

Because the job of a Registered Nurse is essential to the smooth running of our clients' operations and the health of their patients, we only take on the most passionate and conscientious candidates. Working with Tezlom, you have the freedom to choose when and where you work, we serve nursing homes, EMI homes and mental health hospitals across the country.

What do you need to work as a Registered Nurse with Tezlom?

  • A valid PIN with the NMC and your own professional indemnity insurance
  • 3 months UK paid experience as a Registered Nurse within the last 5 years
  • Enhanced Adult & Child Workforce DBS (either processed with Tezlom or on the Update Service)
  • Mandatory training completed within the last 12 months (free with us if yours has lapsed)
  • A minimum of 2 satisfactory references

Revalidation, and how we help you evidence it

Every three years you have to revalidate with the NMC, and agency nurses often worry that flexible work makes that harder to evidence. It does not. In practice agency shifts across several settings can make revalidation easier, because you build a wider and better-documented range of practice than you would in one place. What matters is keeping the paperwork as you go, and that part is on us as much as it is on you.

Here is what Tezlom gives you towards your revalidation portfolio:

  • CPD accredited training, online and practical, free to Tezlom nurses, with certificates you can put straight into your portfolio
  • Documented shift reports evidencing your practice hours, so you are not trying to reconstruct a year from memory
  • Written feedback from the services you work in, towards your practice-related feedback requirement
  • One-to-one support from an experienced Care Manager who has been through this before and will sit down with you and go through what you still need
  • A reminder before your revalidation date, rather than after it

Revalidation itself is completed through your NMC Online account. We cannot do it for you, and we would not pretend otherwise, but we can make sure you reach it with the evidence already in hand instead of scrambling.

Registered Nurse FAQs

Can I keep a permanent job and do agency nursing?

Yes, many of our nurses work agency shifts around a permanent role. You set your availability and your branch works around it.

Does agency nursing count towards NMC revalidation?

Yes. Agency practice hours count exactly the same as hours in a permanent post. Tezlom documents your shift reports so your practice hours are evidenced, provides CPD accredited training with certificates, and collects practice-related feedback from the services you work in. Revalidation itself is completed through your NMC Online account every three years.

What CPD training do you provide for nurses?

CPD accredited online and practical training courses, free to Tezlom nurses, with certificates you can put straight into your revalidation portfolio. If your mandatory training has lapsed we will enrol you at no cost.

Do I need my own indemnity insurance?

Yes. You need a valid NMC PIN and your own professional indemnity insurance to work as a Registered Nurse with Tezlom.

What settings will I be working in?

Nursing homes, EMI homes and mental health services. Your branch will always tell you what a placement actually involves before you accept it.

How quickly can I start?

Once your compliance is complete. Your branch will give you a realistic timescale for your situation rather than a sales figure, and they will chase the slow parts for you.
